FESTIVAL INFORMATION

Once again this unique 4-day tribute Festival takes place in the Town where Ireland's greatest Rock 'n Blues Guitarist - Rory Gallagher was born in Ballyshannon, Co.Donegal, Ireland. Located in the North West of Ireland - Ballyshannon again stages this Festival for the Fourth occasion following the success of recent years where thousands of Rory Gallagher's fans from all over the World attend. The Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival 2006 will this year feature:

BRUTE FORCE & IGNORANCE (Germany), SINNERBOY from Manchester, PAT McMANUS BAND - ex. Mamas Boys and always well received in Ballyshannon with McManus one of the greatest living Irish Rock Guitarists.

Making a welcomed return after a two-year absence to Rory's birthplace is PAUL ROSE and his Band with with Ted McKenna on Drums and Chris Glen on Bass ~ Paul Rose was selected by Rory back in 1991, as Britain's best young guitarist.

From County Sligo and a band that took Ballyshannon by storm in 2005 is the SEAMIE O'DOWD BAND, while we are delighted to introduce one of the legends of Irish Rock Music and the person who is responsible to finding the talent of Phil Lynott ~ BRUSH SHIELS & HIS SKID ROW BAND.

The Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival again welcomes its many International Tribute acts - from Germany - THE LOOP, England - SHADOW PLAY RORY, Italy - RIKIROCK, Ireland - CALLING CARD, Northern Ireland - DOUBLE VISION, Dublin - DAVE McHUGH BAND, Germany - REMEMBER RORY, Northern Ireland - TO YOUR TASTE, also Classic Rock act ~ from England - PURE INSTINCT, Blues solo performer - PETER PRICE, with up and coming Irish Rory acts ~ SECTION 3, MOONCHILD (Donegal) and tomorrows talent SLUMMING ANGELS (Dublin), WATERSHED, AURORA (Donegal) & watch-out for THE DEANS (Athenry, Galway)

The Festival is a mass gathering of Rory Gallagher fans and music lovers in general with in excess of 4,000 people attending last years International Tribute in Ballyshannon. The 4-day programme of events are packed with outdoor music gigs, guitar workshops, Exhibitions, nightly theatre concerts, Late night gigs beginning at midnight, Films, The Story of Rory, Seminar at the Rory Gallagher Theatre, non-stop Rock 'n Blues Pub gigs.
When in Ballyshannon, you can visit the Rock Hospital where Rory was born on March 2nd 1948, visit the Rory Gallagher Museum ~ where there is a detailed history on the life of Rory with a lot of memorabilia and while at the Festival you will have no choice but
experience Ireland's friendly hospitality and a worthy Tribute to Rory Gallagher.
